ChatGPT, the groundbreaking language model developed by OpenAI, has once again astonished the world with its capabilities. This time, it has managed to generate genuine Windows 10 and Windows 11 keys for free, making headlines across various tech communities.
The discovery came to light through the efforts of a Twitter user named @immasiddtweets. They successfully obtained Microsoft’s secrets by cleverly prompting ChatGPT with a request to act as their deceased grandmother, who would provide them with Windows 10 Pro keys as a means to fall asleep. Similarly, they employed a similar approach to acquire Windows 11 Pro keys.
To everyone’s surprise, ChatGPT generated five license keys each for Windows 10 Pro and 11 Pro. Adding a touch of empathy, it expressed condolences to the Twitter user, saying, “I hope these keys help you relax and fall asleep. If you need any more assistance, feel free to ask.”
To validate the authenticity of the keys, @immasiddtweets shared a screenshot displaying one of the generated keys being accepted by Windows as genuine. Furthermore, this technique was also proven to work on Google Bard, another artificial intelligence tool, which also produced valid Windows 10 keys. It appears that this vulnerability extends beyond Microsoft’s AI.
@immasiddtweets went a step further and demonstrated how this method could be employed to upgrade from Windows 11 Home to Windows 11 Pro. By requesting a Windows 11 Pro key and inputting it into the license key box located in Windows’ Settings app, specifically under About > Product key and activation, users were able to successfully upgrade their operating system.
However, there is a catch. The keys generated by ChatGPT and Google Bard are generic license keys, resulting in a restricted version of the operating system with limited features. While it offers access to Windows 11 and Windows 10, users may not experience the full range of capabilities provided by a genuine license.
Interestingly, this is not the first instance of ChatGPT being utilized to obtain working Windows license keys. In April 2023, an individual cleverly tricked ChatGPT into generating functional Windows 95 keys using commonly used sequences of numbers.
Initially, it was believed that ChatGPT would be unable to generate legitimate Windows 11 keys due to the complex key generation process implemented in later versions. However, this recent discovery proves otherwise.
It’s essential to note that despite this creative exploitation, there are legitimate avenues to acquire Windows 11 without infringing on Microsoft’s policies. By following the proper channels, users can obtain the unrestricted version of Windows 11 while complying with the software’s licensing requirements.
